Extended Deadlines for Students

September 4, 2020

This is a reminder to the campus community of important deadlines and deadline extensions for students.

Add/Drop Date
The last date students can add courses (with a permission number) or drop courses without approval of a serious and compelling reason to is September 14, 2020 by 11:59 p.m. After this date, a “W” grade will be recorded. Drops after this date can no longer be completed through your Student Center.

Withdrawal
September 14, 2020 is also the last day to withdraw entirely from the fall semester without approval of a serious and compelling reason by 11:59 p.m. After this date, a “W” grade will be recorded and permission to withdraw will be required. See Withdrawal Process.

Credit / No Credit Option
Before students make the decision to withdraw, they should know that the final day to switch their  optional grade course to a Credit/No Credit option has been extended to December 11, 2020.  Students should always consult with their advisors on course selection and keep their DARS degree planner up to date.

Financial Aid Freeze Date
In addition, once per semester, the Financial Aid office takes a "snapshot" of the number of units students are enrolled in to assess the need for any changes to their financial aid package. This “Freeze Date” has been extended to September 14, 2020. Read more about deadline to make enrollment changes.

Students who have any questions can email records@humboldt.edu or contact the Financial Aid office. Please remind students that when emailing an office or leaving a voicemail, it is highly advisable to always provide the following details:

  • HSU student ID (essential to route your question to the right person)

  • First and last name
