Executive Director, Sponsored Programs Foundation Open Forum

Reminder: The search committee and Provost Jenn Capps invite you to attend the Open Forum for the candidate for the position of Executive Director, Sponsored Programs Foundation.

The incoming Executive Director will provide leadership and day-to-day management of the Sponsored Programs Foundation under the supervision of the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs. In this capacity, the Executive Director will plan, develop, implement and monitor policies and systems. The Executive Director also oversees compliance programs and audit processes, coordinates contract functions with other administrative units and leads a professional staff in support of the University's research capacity.

What is your vision for how Sponsored Programs Foundation could support an equitable and successful transition to Polytechnic status at HSU?

Candidate Bio:

Kacie Flynn earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education from Humboldt State University with a Certificate in Gallery Studies. Kacie has been with the Sponsored Programs Foundation in a number of roles since August 2010. She has earned the designation of Certified Research Administrator (CRA) from the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC), and is currently pursuing her Masters of Science in Research Administration from Johns Hopkins University.

Kacie has been actively involved with the CSU Auxiliary Organizations Association (AOA) for several years. The members that make up the Auxiliary Organizations Association (AOA) are the auxiliaries of the 23 campuses in the California State University (CSU) system. She served as the 2020 AOA President and currently serves as a member of the Executive Committee. 

Kacie focuses on building a strong and customer service focused organization that enables HSU to increase the number of proposals to a wide range of research, scholarly and creative opportunities; develop processes and practices that enhance data tracking and management of awards; and expand HSU’s outreach to other stakeholders, including other CSUs and institutions of higher learning, and community and industry partners.
