Eighty-Five Humboldt State Lumberjack Student-Athletes Named to Presidential Scholar/Dean’s List

June 3, 2021

This past Spring semester saw the Humboldt State Lumberjack Student-Athletes excelling  in the classroom once again, as they posted a department median GPA of 3.43. Forty of those student-athletes were named Presidential Scholars for achieving a 3.85+ GPA (while being enrolled in at least 12 GPA applicable units) and an additional forty-five were named to the Dean's list for posting a GPA of at least 3.50 (also while enrolled in at least 12 GPA units). Overall, 108 student-athletes achieved a GPA of at least a 3.5 during the Spring term.

“It is exciting to see so many of our student-athletes succeeding in the classroom this past academic semester,” said Humboldt State University Compliance Officer Amanda Nelson.  “Women’s basketball’s 3.70 team gpa is particularly impressive, beating our previous team record of 3.58.”

Seven of Humboldt State’s 11 intercollegiate athletics teams recorded a 3.35 or higher team grade point average with the women’s basketball team posting a 3.70 grade point average (gpa).  This is the highest term GPA that any Lumberjack intercollegiate athletic team has posted during an academic semester.  Also recording a 3.35 team GPA this Spring semester were women’s soccer (3.64), softball (3.52), men’s soccer (3.46) rowing (3.41), men’s’ basketball (3.39) and volleyball (3.36).
