Course Calendar Changes

January 22, 2015

Google has made changes to their calendaring system, and class schedules can no longer be automatically transferred to individual HSU faculty/student Google calendars at the start of the term as they have in the past. So ITS has built a new process that lets you download and import your class schedule into any calendar that supports the iCal standard.

Note that:

  • any subsequent import of class schedules will not replace or duplicate an existing course if any of the data has changed, but will display a warning message in red telling you that the course already exists on your calendar. By the same token, any classes already in your calendar will not be deleted.
  • classes imported into your Google calendar do not take account of campus holidays or breaks, so if you see one of your classes showing up on, for example, Martin Luther King Day or Spring Break, you can safely ignore or delete those instances of the class.

Just follow the simple instructions on the ITS website at https://www2.humboldt.edu/its/import-class-schedules to import your class schedule into your Google Calendar; if you use a different calendar, please check with the Technology Help DeskĀ at x4357 first.
