Correction: Information Regarding Pay on December 20, 2022

The President activated Emergency Pay for certain California State University Employees Union (CSUEU Units 2, 5, 7 and 9) and Teamsters (Unit 6) employees while working on campus as essential personnel to emergency response on December 20, 2022. For detailed information, refer to respective collective bargaining agreements and HR Technical Letter 2020-06.

The President also authorized Administrative Pay for certain employees who were both scheduled to work and either denied access to campus due to the emergency campus closure, and/or unable to telecommute due to electrical or telecommunications outages directly related to the emergency event  on December 20, 2022.

Administrative Pay (Leave)

Eligible:

  • Staff, both exempt and non-exempt, who were both scheduled to work and either denied access to campus due to the emergency campus closure, and/or unable to telecommute due to electrical or telecommunications outages directly related to the emergency event.
  • Students who were both scheduled to work and either denied access to campus due to the emergency campus closure, and/or unable to telecommute due to electrical or telecommunications outages directly related to the emergency event (paid for scheduled hours).

*Exempt employees who successfully telecommuted will be paid their regular pay.  Non-exempt employees who successfully telecommuted should report their regular hours worked. Hours not worked will be eligible for Administrative Pay subject to above conditions.

Not Eligible:

  • Employees who had already scheduled sick leave, vacation, personal holiday or compensatory time off will still be charged for that time, unless called in to work on campus as essential personnel on December 20, 2022.
  • Employees who would have been absent on any day of closure because they were in non-pay status will not be granted leave due to an emergency campus closure.
  • Intermittent hourly employees who were scheduled to work

Emergency Pay

Eligible:

  • CSUEU (Units 2,5,7 and 9) non-exempt employees, only while working on campus as essential personnel on December 20, 2022.
  • Teamsters (Unit 6) non-exempt employees, only while working on campus as essential personnel on December 20, 2022.

Compensatory Informal Time Off

Exempt CSUEU Employees, only while working on campus as essential personnel on December 20, 2022, are eligible for compensatory Informal Time Off. Compensatory informal time off shall be scheduled at such time agreed upon by the employee and the Appropriate Administrator.
