Corliss Bennett Named Director of Student Success Outcomes

As part of the ongoing realignment of services to best support student success, Dr. Corliss Bennett has been named the Director of Student Success Outcomes reporting to the Associate Vice President for Student Success in the Division of Enrollment Management.  

Dr. Bennett will be responsible for partnering with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness to establish and implement an on-going program of assessment and evaluation within the Enrollment Management division, particularly the student service and programmatic areas.  Robust and consistent assessment of outcomes is critical to achieving the operational work that supports student persistence and completion. 

Dr. Bennett previously served as the Director of the Cultural Centers for Academic Excellence at HSU where she worked to directly support the academic success of students.  “Throughout her career, Dr. Bennett has prioritized supporting students in making their dreams come true through education,” says Steve St. Onge, Interim Associate Vice President for Student Success, “and I know that through this critical role Corliss will make an impact.” Dr. Bennett offers that “This new role will afford me the opportunity to blend my passion for cultivating environments that nurture the development of community, utilize my skills and experience in student affairs administration, and my commitment to supporting students’ success.”

Dr. Bennett earned a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California (emphasis on Higher Education Administration), an M.A. in International and Multicultural Education from the University of San Francisco (emphasis on Student Affairs), and a B.A. in Liberal Studies from University of California, Riverside (emphasis on Sociology and Education).
