Construction of New Children's Center and Child Development Lab at Trinity Annex

Humboldt State University began construction on a new facility for HSU's Children's Center and Child Development Programs at the site of the Trinity Annex (the former Trinity Hospital) on December 6, 2021. 

With this project, the original Trinity Hospital will be preserved and modernized, and a new addition of approximately 3,800 square feet will also be constructed.  Once completed, this site will house children's classrooms, staff offices, educational space, support spaces, and play yards. The new facility is planned to open Spring 2023.

During construction, both the HSU designated parking lot and the City of Arcata metered parking in this area will be unavailable. The following streets will also see impacts from construction activity: 13th, 14th, B, and C Streets. The contractor will also use the Campus Events Field and the parking lot near the Wagner House for material lay-out areas. (Notice of Construction flyer attached below.)
