Changes in the Office of the President

July 2, 2018

To HSU faculty and staff:

I am writing to update you on recent organizational changes in the Office of the President. As most of you know, Mary Hackett retired from her position as Presidential Aide, and her last day at HSU was June 25. Mary has been an integral part of campus for the past 14 years. She served as Presidential Aide for more than five years, and she also worked in the Department of Geography and the College of Natural Resources & Sciences. We wish Mary the best in her future endeavor.

Going forward, as we evaluate our most effective office structure to serve the University, here is a summary of the current organization. At the moment, these are temporary assignments as we determine the optimal structure. Kay Libolt is now serving as Presidential Aide. She is located in Siemens Hall 224 (where Mary previously worked). Joy Finney is now serving as the Confidential Administrative Support in the office, and she will be located in Siemens Hall 221 (where Kay previously worked). We are in the process of hiring a receptionist on an emergency basis. Until this hire is made, Joy will continue to work at her current desk, and she will move across the hall when the receptionist arrives.

The team in the President’s Office has a strong history of being well cross-trained, and this has been an important factor in providing support to the University community. As a result, you should be able to ask for assistance from anyone in the office, and we will get the question to the right person.

With best wishes,

Lisa A. Rossbacher, Ph.D.
President
