Change in Leadership in Administration & Finance

March 14, 2022

Shahrooz Roohparvar, who has served for the last year as Cal Poly Humboldt’s Vice President for Administration & Finance, has stepped down from his position. He called it a tough decision, but said it is important that he prioritize time with his wife and children, and that he move closer to family.

The University is thankful for Mr. Roohparvar’s service. He provided guidance during the ongoing response to the pandemic, both in the Emergency Operations Center and in the various areas he supervised. He was also very involved in the polytechnic budget and facilities planning. Among the initiatives he oversaw was collaboration for public-private partnerships for more student housing at the Earth Center, strategic  land acquisitions, and implementation of a new campus parking app.

Sherie Cornish Gordon will assume the role of Interim Vice President for Administration & Finance while continuing to serve as the Chief of Staff. This will be Ms. Gordon’s second time serving in this interim position. She will also continue to co-lead the polytechnic implementation efforts along with Provost Jenn Capps. Mr. Roohparvar will continue to provide support, when needed, to ensure a smooth and successful transition.

Information on permanently filling the vacancy for the Vice President for Administration & Finance will be provided later.
