CalFresh Outreach Day
Oh SNAP Student Food Programs is hosting HSU's participation in CalFresh Outreach Day! If you have never heard of CalFresh it is a nutrition program that can help households buy healthy foods. In California, CalFresh used to be known as the Food Stamp Program. Nationally, the program is called SNAP. It is funded by the federal government. CalFresh benefits are issued on an EBT card that works like a debit card and can be used at most grocery stores and many farmers markets to purchase food.
CSU Calfresh Outreach Day is February 27th. Oh SNAP will be hosting a variety of activities including:
Noon-2pm, UC Quad (Rec and Wellness Drop-In lounge in case of rain) - Calfresh Games & Thrift Shop Donations! Learn about Calfresh and sign up! Also we will be collecting donations for the Oh SNAP Pop-Up Thrift Shop. FREE PIZZA!
4-5pm, Library 317, Financial Literacy Workshop on Food Budgeting! Learn about Calfresh as well as the Emergency J-Points Program! FREE TACO BAR!
5:30-7:30pm, Rec and Wellness 122, Cooking Demonstration! Come learn how to make delicious and inexpensive health food from a local chef!
