Cal Poly Humboldt Professional Development Newsletter - May 2026

April 30, 2026

As the semester winds down and we begin looking ahead to summer, May offers a natural moment to pause, reflect, and prepare for what comes next. Across campus, teams are closing out projects, supporting final milestones, and beginning to shift focus toward summer priorities. While this transition can feel busy, it also creates an opportunity to be intentional about how we wrap up our work and set ourselves—and each other—up for success.

Preparing for a smooth summer transition doesn’t have to mean doing more; often, it means doing things with greater clarity. Taking time now to document processes, communicate timelines, and align expectations can make a meaningful difference in the months ahead. Whether it’s ensuring coverage plans are in place, organizing files for easy access, or simply checking in with colleagues before schedules change, these small steps help create continuity and reduce stress for everyone involved.

Summer also brings a different rhythm to campus life, offering space to reset and refocus. It can be a great time to revisit goals, explore professional development opportunities, or think creatively about the work ahead. Many of the same resources that support us throughout the year—training, collaboration, and shared knowledge—continue to be available and can help us make the most of this season.
