Cal Poly Humboldt’s Jaden Edwards Named to 2021-22 All-CCAA Second Team

As announced by the office of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), Cal Poly Humboldt’s Jaden Edwards was named to the 2021-22 All-CCAA Second Team as voted on by the conference’s twelve head coaches.  During this season, Edwards was named twice the CCAA Men’s Basketball Player of the Week (Dec. 6-12 and Jan. 17-23).

 

Edwards started in all 26 games this season while averaging a team leading 16.5 points and 9.4 rebounds per game.  He also led the Jacks with his 27 steals and 35.7% shooting from beyond the arc.  The junior guard dished out 34 assists, shot 46.4% from the field and blocked nine shots. 

 

The Portland, Ore., native recorded twelve double-doubles this season.  His season highs were 41 points (vs. Simpson, Dec. 9, 2021), 17 rebounds (at Stanislaus State, Dec. 11, 2021), five assists (vs. Cal State Dominguez Hills, Feb. 10, 2022), three steals (vs. Dominican, Nov. 27, 2021) and two blocked shots (vs. Cal Poly Pomona, Jan. 15, 2022). 

 

Heading into the post-season, Edwards is third in the CCAA in scoring, second in rebounding, and fourth in field goal percentage.  In the latest NCAA Division II statistics, Edwards is 21st in the nation in double-doubles, 25th in total rebounds and 26th in rebounds per game.
