Annual Open Enrollment for Benefits: Sept. 21 - October 16

September 10, 2020

The CSU annual Open Enrollment will be September 21, 2020 through October 16, 2020. Open Enrollment is your annual opportunity to review and update your current benefits for the 2021 calendar year.  You can enroll, change, or cancel CalPERS health, dental, vision plans or Flexcash, enroll for the first time or re-enroll in Dependent Care Reimbursement (DCRA), Health Care Reimbursement (HCRA) or voluntary benefit plans. The effective date for all changes/enrollments made during the Open Enrollment period will be January 1, 2021.

To make Open Enrollment changes, log into MyHumboldt, navigate to the “Benefits” tab under “My Profile” and click the Open Enrollment: September 21 – October 16  link (please note you will not see this link until September 21st)Click the ‘Select’ button and follow the prompts to make changes.   Please see our Open Enrollment eBenefits Guide for more information on how to make open enrollment changes in eBenefits.

For 2021, the premiums for many plans will be changing.  Please carefully review the 2021 Health Premium Rate Sheet.  The level of coverage for both Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plans, benefits and network providers in Humboldt County are the same, and are facilitated through the Independent Practice Association (IPA) in Eureka; the Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plans are administered directly by Anthem Blue Cross.

A Few Notable Changes:

  • Coverage for the medical, dental, and vision plans will remain the same.

  • The Healthcare Reimbursement Account (HCRA) program maintains a $2,750 annual maximum contribution and the Dependent Care Reimbursement Account will remain at a $5,000 annual maximum contribution.  ASI Flex will send new HCRA enrollees a debit card (2 cards will be sent) to be used on reimbursable health care expenses, with no additional fee.  Returning enrollees will also be sent a debit card if they have not already been issued one.  Visit ASI Flex for more information about HCRA/DCRA expenses which are eligible for reimbursement.

Important Things to Remember/Review:

  • HCRA/DCRA plans DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY ROLL FORWARD – you must re-enroll for 2021 if you would like your enrollment to continue.

  • Review the summaries and/or evidence of coverage documents for each plan:

  • Anthem Blue Cross (Anthem Traditional HMO, PERS Choice, PERS Care, and PERS Select PPO plans)

  • All information regarding Open Enrollment will be available on the Benefits Website.

  • Please print the final page of your enrollment.  eBenefits is not capable at this time to send you a confirmation of your enrollment – please print and save for your records.

Please remember that you have online access to your benefit enrollment information through your MyHumboldt Portal.  You can review your health enrollments from anywhere, 24/7.  Learn more about how to find your Benefits Summary here.

All open enrollment eBenefits changes must be submitted by 5pm, Friday, October 16, 2020.  At this time, access to the eBenefits system will be closed.
