32 Humboldt State Lumberjacks’ Student-Athletes Named to 2020-21 CCAA Spring Academic Honor Roll

As announced this morning, thirty-two members of the Humboldt State men’s and women’s track and field and softball teams were named to the 2020-21 CCAA Spring Academic Honor Roll.

 Twelve members of the Lumberjack men’s track and field team, under the direction of head coach Sarah Ingram received this honor.  These twelve Lumberjacks are. Terrence Allen, Travis Allen, Shane Burton, Micah Chitraroff, Michael Gengo, Philip Hufman, Jaxon Leduc, Ben Maupin, Emmett McMahon, Mica Mills, Ries Ruehrwein and Jared Schroter.

 Over on the softball field, eight members of Humboldt State’s softball team, under the guidance of head coach Shelli Sarchett, received this honor.  These eight are Morgan Brant, Katelyn Dendas, Danica Grier, Micaela Harris, Megan Holt, Sarah Salinas, Izzy Starr and Haley Suter.

 Twelve members of HSU’s women’s track and field, under the tutelage of head coach Sarah Ingram were named to the CCAA Spring Academic Honor Roll.  These twelve Lumberjacks are. Emily Bath, Rebekah Baur, Hope Brecto, Pearl Burton, Jade Dodley, Samantha Duston, Rosa Granados, Joy Hano, Valerie Heywood, Andie Kolasinski, Rosie Melville and Saedy Williamson.

 Six Lumberjacks are three-time recipients of the Spring Academic Honor Roll in Brecto, Gengo, Grier, Harris, Salinas and Suter.  Seventeen players are two-time honorees of the Spring Academic Honor Roll in Allen, Bath, Baur, Brant, Burton, Chitraroff, Dendas, Dodley, Duston, Heywood, Kolasinski, Leduc, Maupin, McMahon, Melville, Mills and Ruehrwein.

 Overall 453 `CCAA student-athletes earned this honor from the 12 institutions from the CCAA that sponsor baseball, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s track and field and softball.

 To earn this honor, a student-athlete has to meet the following criteria:

1.)   Be of sophomore standing or higher and may include a graduate student

2.)   Own a 3.3 cumulative grade point average or higher, based on most recently completed term at the time of nomination

3.)   Have competed in a conference-sponsored sport in that season (waived for 2020-21, must be on roster in good standing

 For the second consecutive semester, HSU’s softball team posted their highest term grade point average in ten years.  Four players were named to the Department’s Presidential Scholar List this past Spring in Katelyn Dendas, Mikey Edwards-Gonzales, Megan Escobar and Vanessa Saltos.  Nine Lumberjacks were named to the Dean’s List in Morgan Brant, Anna Brondos, Kelsey Burr, Gaige Garcia, Danica Grier, Megan Holt, Alyssa Ramirez, Izzy Starr and Haley Suter.

 HSU’s men’s track and field teams had four members named to the Department’s Presidential Scholar List in Travis Allen, Micah Chitraroff, Riese Ruehrwein and Jared Schroter while Terrence Allen and Isaac Figueroa were named to the Dean’s List.

 Three members of the Lumberjack women’s track and field team were named to the Department’s Presidential Scholar List in Pearl Burton, Valerie Heywood and Saedy Williams.  Five Lumberjacks were named to the Dean’s List in Emiily Bath, Rebekah Baur, Zoe Becker, Jade Dodley and Samantha Duston.
