2027 CSU Student Research Competition - Open to all Majors

November 5, 2026

Do you have a promising student conducting research? Please encourage them to apply to the 2027 CSU Student Research Competition which highlights exceptional undergraduate and graduate work in research, scholarship, and creative activities. This is an opportunity for students to showcase projects they are already working on and to shine at the state level!

Eligibility: Open to current undergraduate and graduate students, and alumni who earned degrees in Spring, Summer, or Fall 2026. Entries may be individual or team-based (only one presenter is guaranteed funds to travel to the competition). Proprietary research is not eligible. New research does not need to be conducted to apply–current projects are encouraged!

How to Apply: To apply, students must submit a written summary of their research or creative presentations to the InfoReady application provided by Cal Poly Humboldt’s Office of Research by Friday, January 29, 2027. Students may showcase recently completed or late-stage work for a chance to win a cash prize!

If selected, Cal Poly Humboldt can send up to 10 students to compete at California State University San Marcos from April 15 - 17, 2027. Sponsored Programs will pay for approved travel costs for each student selected to represent Humboldt in the statewide competition.
