2026 Summer Bridge Student Employment
As we are rolling fast into the summer, it is once again that time of year to begin submitting Summer Bridge Student Appointments!
This summer we are excited to announce some changes that will streamline some of the process for both student employees and departments. Students continuing from Spring 2026 and being hired into the same department whose appointment documents are submitted by the given deadline will be able to continue to record time in the same timesheet without interruption and can be left in the same position number as long as there are no changes in funding. This should eliminate delays that have been experienced in the past of timesheets being unavailable while we transition from academic year appointments to summer bridge appointments. To help with this process we ask that all appointments for continuing student employees be submitted by the end of day, May 15, 2026. All students not re-appointed by that date will have their job rows separated on June 1, 2026, and may experience delays in accessing their Summer Bridge timesheets.
Starting with summer bridge there will also be a change in the appointment document workflow. Previously anyone with the appropriate delegation of authority was allowed to sign off on a student appointment document, however, going forward it is required that the appointment document is signed by the employee's appropriate administrator.
