A Reminder from the Facilities Management Team

Please keep these helpful tips and policies in mind to help keep our campus running smoothly and safely:

• Building Security & Energy: Help keep our campus safe by closing all office, classroom, and lab windows at the end of the day before leaving.

• Furniture Placement: Return all furniture to its intended location after moving it for an event or gathering.

• Key Returns: Return all keys and keycards to the Facilities Management front desk as soon as they are no longer needed or if your access needs change.

• Waste & Composting:

  • Green Compost Bins: Intended for food waste only. Leftover department pumpkins may be placed in green compost bins. Dog waste is strictly prohibited in green bins; please bag it and use black or grey landfill bins or dumpsters.

  • Recycling Dumpsters: Clothing and trash bags/liners are not permitted in campus recycling dumpsters.

  • Campus Waste Policy: All campus waste bins and dumpsters are strictly for campus-generated waste only.

• Posting Event Announcements: Printed and posted announcements must comply with the campusTime, Place, and Manner of Free Speech and Expression, Commercial Activity and Use of University Buildings and Grounds Policy Postings are restricted to designated bulletin boards or approved outdoor signs and must be removed within one week after the event concludes.

• Shipping & Transportation:

  • Shipping/Mail: Complete and attach the required Shipping/Mail form to all outgoing campus freight. Shipments will not be processed without this form.

  • Field Trips: Submit field trip transportation requests (bus/van) and review departmental costs via the campus transportation link.

• Reporting Facilities Issues: Submit non-urgent issues through the Facilities Management work request webform. For urgent facilities needs, call (707) 826-4475.
