The add/drop deadline and financial aid enrollment freeze date has been extended by one day to Tuesday, September 8. The original deadline, Monday, September 7, falls on Labor Day, when the university is closed. The one-day extension will help ensure students have access to campus support before these important deadlines.

The Labor Day conflict has been a recurring challenge with our current academic calendar. We will review it this fall so future calendars can address the issue more clearly and, ideally, avoid this kind of late adjustment.

For Fall 2026:

• The add/drop deadline is Tuesday, September 8, at 11:59 p.m. PST
• The financial aid enrollment freeze date will also move to Tuesday, September 8.
• Students will have Tuesday to resolve schedule issues while university offices are open.
• Registrar staff will be available during regular business hours for questions and processing.
• No other fall deadlines are changing. 
• Faculty should expect roster changes through Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

We know this is a late change, and that faculty, advisors, and staff have been working from the September 7 deadline. Given the campus closure, the additional day gives students one final opportunity to resolve issues while university support is available.

Students will be notified directly as soon as possible by both email and text message. Please help reinforce the updated deadline in your conversations with students and colleagues.
