Home Away from Home is a community effort that builds connection between Arcata’s student and non-student communities by hosting potlucks and free food and supply distributions for local college students.

The next event will take place on April 26 at 5 p.m. at the D Street Neighborhood Center, 1301 D Street in Arcata. Students are invited to enjoy a free meal with friends and pick up a free bag of household supplies while supplies last.

Faculty and staff can support this effort by sharing the flyer with students, volunteering at the event, or bringing a ready-to-serve dish that serves approximately 10 people. Because kitchen capacity is limited, food should be fully prepared and ready to serve.
