Support Home Away from Home on April 26
Dear Colleagues,
Please help us spread the word and support Home Away from Home, a community effort that builds connection between Arcata’s student and non-student communities by hosting potlucks and free food and supply distributions for local college students.
The next Home Away from Home event will take place on April 26 at 5 p.m. at the D Street Neighborhood Center, 1301 D Street in Arcata. Students are invited to enjoy a free meal with friends and pick up a free bag of household supplies while supplies last. Food will be provided by community members and local businesses, with meat, vegetarian, and special diet options available.
Faculty and staff can support this effort in several ways:
- Share the attached flyer with students who may benefit
- Volunteer to attend, connect with students, and assist with setup or cleanup
- Bring a ready-to-serve dish that serves approximately 10 people
Because kitchen capacity is limited, food should be fully prepared and ready to serve.
