Transition from OBI to CFS for Financial Data

November 13, 2025

Hello Colleagues,

We continue to make steady progress transitioning from Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI) to the Chancellor’s Office-supported Common Financial System (CFS) Data Warehouse as part of the Enterprise Data Transformation (EDT) Project, a five-year initiative to modernize our data architecture and strengthen our culture of data-informed decision-making. A campus-wide CFS Data Warehouse Task Force continues to guide this transition with a target final transition for stateside finance data users in July of 2026.

Progress to Date
Over the past six months, the project team and task force have:

  • Completed initial reviews of report requirements and data mapping
  • Worked with campus representatives to identify super users who will support testing and training
  • Developed resources to help guide colleagues through the transition
  • Conducted initial training sessions
  • Established recurring Drop-In Training Sessions

Looking Ahead
In the coming months, we will:

  • Continue expanding Financial Reporting training opportunities and refining resources based on campus feedback
  • Begin training on Labor Cost Dashboards and developing resources
  • Support campus units as they adopt the CFS Data Warehouse in daily operations

We encourage you to stay engaged:
