September “Tea & Talk” for Faculty and Staff – AI & DEI: What’s the Tea?
Dear Faculty and Staff,
The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI), in partnership with Human Resources, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Academic Personnel Services (APS), and Staff Council, invites you to join us for “Tea & Talk,” a monthly professional development space designed to connect, reflect, and build community.
When: Thursday, September 4, 2025, 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
Where: Social Justice, Equity, and Inclusion Center (SJEIC), Vine Deloria Room, Balabanis House
This month’s conversation, “AI & DEI: What’s the Tea?”, explores how artificial intelligence is shaping our workplace and what’s at stake for equity, inclusion, and belonging in this evolving landscape. Together, we’ll reflect on the opportunities and challenges AI brings to higher education, while fostering dialogue that supports a more inclusive campus environment. As well as other topics that might emerge.
Tea & Talk is intentionally scheduled during the workday to affirm institutional support for employee learning and well-being. These conversations are designed not just as moments of connection, but as professional development spaces where participants strengthen their ability to lead inclusively, deepen collaboration across roles and disciplines, and reflect on the pressing issues that shape our shared workplace. Guided by principles of confidentiality, respect, and cultural humility, each gathering offers a trusted environment for dialogue, listening, and mutual learning.
Coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and pastries will be provided.
We look forward to sharing “tea,” conversation, and community with you.
With respect,
Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI)
