Submit your Earth Week Events to Campus Form (and Join the Planning Group)!
Greetings,
Earth Day is typically celebrated at Cal Poly Humboldt through a series of week-long activities in April. This year the timing will be April 21st- 25th, 2025. If you have an idea for an event our campus should host, if you want to take leadership on an activity, or if you are already planning to host some kind of related activity, the Sustainability Office and the Environmental Sustainability Officer in Associated Students cordially invite you to alert us of your plans and ideas via this submission form! The form is now live and accepting responses through early March.
The reasons for aggregating Earth Week activities in this form include:
Make sure we craft a comprehensive program to promote many diverse ways the campus community is celebrating Earth Day and Earth Week.
Ensure we do not have competing or duplicative events and activities happening during Earth Week and catch these tensions early (so we can encourage and facilitate collaboration as needed).
Engage a process of participatory planning and engagement so that our whole campus feels included.
Attempt to resource and fill gaps for entities needing support to bring their Earth Week ideas to fruition (such as helping to find money to support events and activities, helping students reserve rooms and understand campus rules, determining when/where equipment can be borrowed or reserved instead of buying new, encouraging zero waste protocols, etc.)
If you are not yet affiliated with a campus club or department but have an awesome idea (re: students), we can help match you to sponsoring groups so please submit any/all ideas to the form! If you have a well developed idea but need money or other support, submit your idea to the form so we can seek out resources with you (the sooner, the better)!
If you are trying to figure out what is already in the works or want to get involved in planning and leadership, consider attending a recurring Earth Week Planning Meeting 4pm Thursdays in Nelson Hall East 106 starting Thursday Feb 20th.
