Google Storage Update
Thanks to the support of many of you across campus, we successfully met our November 1st goal to reduce Google storage use!
With this milestone reached, we’re now moving into Phase II of the project: maintaining our storage limits. Our next steps will focus on:
Setting both temporary and permanent storage limits (including on Shared drives),
Updating the ITS website with the latest storage management tools,
Providing easy-to-use cleanup tools, and
Sharing best practices to help manage storage needs.
Rest assured, we will absolutely have a place for you to store what's important! Don’t stop using Google Drive—we’re committed to making sure you have the resources you need to support your work.
We’ll continue to keep you updated on these changes and will be working closely with various groups including the Academic Technology Advisory Committee (ATAC) to set temporary storage limits. These temporary limits will help us manage storage growth while we collaborate with campus stakeholders to determine the future of Google storage use.
