Humboldt State Men’s Soccer Team Volunteers Their Time Helping Out for MRYSL

August 16, 2021

Humboldt State men’s soccer team spent their Saturday morning this past weekend volunteering at Hiller Park in Humboldt County helping prepare the soccer fields for the Mad River Youth Soccer League (MRYSL) in preparation of their season this fall.

“It is great to be back at school and be able to get back into the community after so long and help in any way we can,” said HSU junior Dylan Tovani.  “We are incredibly happy to show our gratitude and give back to the community that supports us so often.”

The Lumberjacks opened up their training camp today in preparation of the fall season.  Humboldt State will begin their 2021 season with a pair of matches in Salt Lake City, Utah.  The ‘Jacks will face Westminster College on September 2 at 7:30pm (MT) and Northwest Nazarene on September 4 at 4:30pm (MT).  This will be the beginning of a four-match road trip before their home opener on September 17 at 3pm against Simpson University.

“Having the opportunity to give back to the community is always something our team looks forward to every year,” noted Lumberjack junior Motoki Sato.  “We definitely had a great time setting up the files for the kids to play and hope to do it again in the near future.”
