Humboldt State Crew Announces The Signing of Cadence Duckett

Humboldt State University head women’s crew coach Matt Weise has announced the signing of Cadence Duckett to a National Letter of Intent.  Duckett will be attending Humboldt State this Fall.

 “Cadence is an experienced and skilled coxswain who will make an immediate impact on our program,” said Coach Weise.  “She has proven to be a good student, leader and teammate and I am looking forward to working with her at HSU.”

Duckett is from Lake Oswego, Oregon, where she attended Lake Oswego Senior High School.  She started her career at Lake Oswego Community Rowing and is in her second season with Rose City RC.  During her rowing career, she has been a member of various teams that have placed at different events.  During the 2016 year, Duckett was a member of the Brentwood Women’s U16 4+ team that placed fourth.  In 2018, Duckett was a part of the Youth Regional Challenge Men’s U18 8- and the team that placed fourth at the Head of the Lake Men’s Varsity 4+.  The coxswain captured first place in 2019 as a member of the Youth Regionals Men’s High School 8+.  In 2019, she also was on the third place Olympic Development Camp Summer Cup B 4+ team.

While attending Lake Oswego High, Duckett was on the basketball team.  She is the daughter of Charity and Sawn Duckett and the sister of Lane.
