Please Stay Safe During Fall Break

Humboldt State University encourages you to stay safe this Fall Break and throughout the year. Weather, road conditions, and oceans and rivers on the North Coast can be dangerous and conditions can change frequently. 

Winter storms, and frosty and icy conditions are not unusual this time of year. Please be aware of weather reports. Also, please be sure to check road conditions before you travel.

North Coast rivers and beaches can be especially dangerous, with the potential for high tides and large waves. Please see beach and river safety precautions from the Six Rivers National Forest

Please remember that Humboldt County Public Health strongly discourages any nonessential travel due to the pandemic. All students, staff, and faculty are required to: 

  • Quarantine for 14 days before returning to campus if you’ve traveled outside California. 

  • Quarantine for 14 days before returning to campus if you’ve traveled outside Humboldt County and your activities put you at higher risk of getting COVID-19.

  • Follow CDC recommendations regarding travel (link).
