A Primer: National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) – Part 1
Want to know more about how our undergraduates experience Humboldt State University? Come learn more about our students and how they engage with our campus, how it compares with other CSU’s and how that relates to the perceptions of instructional staff.
On Friday September 22, 2017 9:00-11:00 in NHE 102 – Goodwin Forum, Dr. Lisa Castellino, Associate Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness will be presenting the first in a three part series on Humboldt State University’s (HSU) NSSE participation in Spring of 2017. Part 1 will include HSU’s findings during the 2017 participation including benchmarks and comparisons to the other California State University (CSU) campuses that participated in the consortium.
NSSE annually collects information at hundreds of four-year colleges and universities about first-year and senior students' participation in programs and activities that institutions provide for their learning and personal development. The results provide an estimate of how undergraduates spend their time and what they gain from attending college.
HSU also participated in the Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (FSSE) in Spring 2017. FSSE was designed to complement NSSE. Part 2 in the series will provide the findings and relationships to NSSE from this survey. Part 3 of the series will concentrate on the results from the Inclusiveness & Engagement with Diversity module.
All of the presentations will be in NHE 102 – Goodwin forum with Part 2 November 3, 2017 from 9:00-11:00 and Part 3 on December 1, 2017 from 9:00-11:00.
