Warm Weather and Campus Buildings
September 9, 2013
With the recent warm weather it has been difficult to maintain comfortable temperatures in some of our campus’s buildings. Facilities Management is doing its best to keep them cool. Because most buildings do not have mechanical cooling equipment, the only option is to circulate air from outside throughout the buildings. Once outdoor temperatures rise above 70 degrees, it becomes difficult to keep the building interiors comfortable. In an effort to mitigate the warm afternoon temperatures, buildings are being ventilated earlier in the mornings. You may be cool in the mornings, but this should help keep the buildings more comfortable in the afternoon. If you have windows open in the afternoon, please remember to close them before leaving for the day.
