HSU to HOLD EMERGENCY DRILL AT RESIDENCE HALL
August 10, 2015
Humboldt State University will be hosting an emergency drill at a residence hall on Wednesday, August 12 to test campus and community response teams.
The exercise will take place on campus from 6 to 7:15 p.m. To make the simulation as realistic as possible, the exact location has not been disclosed.
Here’s what to expect:
- University Police Department, the Campus Emergency Response Team, the Arcata Fire Department, and Arcata Mad River Ambulance will participate in the drill.
- The simulation will be loud. You may see smoke coming out of buildings and actors crying for help. First responders will be using emergency radios and traffic flow may be affected on campus.
- On the day of the drill, HSU will post a notice on the main Homepage (Humboldt.edu) and send an email notification.
Please note tests are drills only. There will be no evacuations. You do NOT need to take any action, and you should NOT call 911 or authorities.
During a real campus emergency, information will be posted on the HSU homepage, and available by calling 826-INFO (4636) and tuning into KHSU 90.5 FM.
