Colleagues,

Congratulations on a successful completion of another academic year!

This weekend's commencements were meaningful celebrations and a testament to all of your hard work to get those students across the platform! In some cases, literally pushing them across it!

This summer I hope all of our faculty colleagues will enjoy a rejuvenation of their academic souls as you focus on your research agendas, teaching reflections, and service commitments.

I know the staff and administrative leadership teams will take the summer to complete all the necessary final aspects of this academic year, plan for the coming year, and begin preparations for the return of the students in fall when it appears we will welcome another record number of incoming freshwomen/freshmen.

On a personal note, thank you to all of you who made this year at Humboldt a rewarding and inspiring experience for me.  My last day on campus will be June 19, but be assured that I will work with the new Interim Provost and later the new Provost to help him/her transition into the wonderful world of Humboldt State University.

I will miss you all!
