The Department of History invites you to its annual Undergraduate History Conference!

Keynote speaker Dr. Mary Lindemann will discuss “Decades of War, Decades of Death: War and Pestilence in Seventeenth-Century Europe” on Friday, April 22, at 5 p.m. in Founders Hall 163 via Zoom (link here; meeting ID and passcode included in the attached updated program).

Mary Lindemann is Professor of History at the University of Miami. She has been President of the German Studies Association and the President of the American Historical Association. Lindemann has written extensively on early modern German and medical history. Her most recent books include: Liaisons dangereuses: Sex, Law, and Diplomacy in the Age of Frederick the Great (2006), Medicine and Society in Early Modern Europe (2nd ed., 2009), and The Merchant Republics: Amsterdam, Antwerp, and Hamburg, 1648-1790 (2015). She is currently writing a book on the wars of the mid to late seventeenth century and especially their aftermath in Brandenburg.

On Saturday, April 23, students enrolled in HIST 394 History Conference will present their research projects in Founders Hall 235 and 236 from 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. See attached for a copy of the conference program.
