"The Future of DEI Programs: Ending Structural Racism and Promoting Racial Equity and Inclusion at the NIH”
Live Webcast
Wednesday, July 21, 2021
12:00 - 1:00 P.M.
The past year has made clear our need to dismantle structural racism and increase diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in our workplaces and our lives. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has led workforce DEI efforts in biomedical science for several decades, and yet recently launched the UNITE Initiative, signaling that it had identified a need to increase its DEI programming further.
UNITE will “address structural racism and promote racial equity and inclusion at NIH and within the larger biomedical research enterprise.” As CSUPERB continues our efforts to eradicate racism and promote DEI, we are pleased to host Dr. Marie Bernard from the UNITE Initiative. Dr. Marie Bernard is the Chief Officer for Scientific Workforce Diversity at the NIH.
If you are a CSU biotechnology-related faculty member or administrator, we encourage you to join us as we learn about this new NIH program, and its broader implications for CSUPERB and the CSU.
This webinar is a free event for CSU university faculty and administrator and will consist of a lecture followed by Q&A. Please note this webinar is not open to students. Questions about this webinar can be directed to the CSUPERB program office at csuperb@sdsu.edu.
