In 1979, President Jimmy Carter installed solar panels on the White House, which were subsequently removed during the Reagan presidency. A Road Not Taken goes back in time to the global oil crisis in the 1970's and traces the fate of these solar panels. With interviews of key players, this documentary centers Carter’s solar installation as a critical prelude to our own era.
Panelists include:
Barbara McVeigh, Founder of the Jimmy Carter Jamboree
Steve Madrone, Humboldt County Board of Supervisors
Arne Jacobson, Director of the Schatz Energy Research Center
Michael Stocker, Executive Director of Ocean Conservation Research
