Spring 2023 CSUPERB Faculty and Student Travel Grant Program

Deadline: Monday, March 6, 2023 by 5:00pm PDT

This is a reminder that the CSUPERB Spring Faculty and Student Travel Grant Program submission deadline is fast approaching!

The CSUPERB Faculty and Student Travel Grant Programs support travel to biotechnology-related professional meetings and workshops, or to collect biotechnology-related data at shared instrumentation facilities or research sites. 

CSUPERB defines biotechnology as a fusion of biology and technology. The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) lists biotechnology examples. CSUPERB explicitly adds to the list health IT and medical device research and development. CSUPERB welcomes and encourages applications from CSU tenured/tenure-track faculty in all disciplines related to the current practice of biotechnology including, but not limited to, life sciences, physical sciences, clinical sciences, math, computer science, agriculture science, engineering, and/or business.

Faculty Travel Grants 

The CSUPERB Faculty Travel Grant Program supports CSU tenured or tenure-track faculty travel to biotechnology-related professional meetings and workshops or to collect biotechnology-related data at shared instrumentation facilities or research sites. Awards will be given up to $1,500. This round of funding supports travel between July 1, 2023 and June 30, 2024.

Student Travel Grants

The CSUPERB Student Travel Grant Program supports faculty-mentored CSU student travel to biotechnology-related professional meetings and workshops or to collect biotechnology- related data at shared instrumentation facilities or research sites. Awards will be given up to $1,500. This round of funding supports travel between July 1, 2023 and June 30, 2024.
