Mid-Semester Feedback (MSF) program
The Mid-Semester Feedback (MSF) program is in full swing.
With a goal to provide instructors and students with an opportunity for mid-semester feedback that focuses on learning and student success in the course, we invite faculty to participate in the MSF Program.
The MSF process includes trained Cal Poly Humboldt graduate students who meet with the instructor to discuss what they hope to discover in the middle of the semester. The graduate students facilitate a student feedback session (30 minutes of class time) on the course's strengths and challenges. A detailed report of the anonymous feedback is provided to the instructor. As a follow-up, faculty may choose to set up a consultation with the CTL to discuss resources and strategies for desired course changes. At the end of the semester, the graduate student returns to the class (~5 minutes) and conducts a Last Class Interview to obtain additional student feedback and close the loop in the feedback process. Participation in MSF is confidential and not associated with the evaluation of teaching effectiveness.
Our graduate student facilitators will meet where you are - in person, via Zoom, and/or an asynchronous option to offer the most flexibility. To request a survey for your course, please complete this short form Request a Mid-Semester Feedback Survey - one form for each course you'd like to survey. Please request your MSF now (last day to request is October 4th) so we can schedule your MSF at mid-semester!
