This week's math colloquium is by Tyler Evans of HSU, titled "Musings on Multiplicative Functions."  We'll survey some multiplicative functions often encountered in a first course in number theory, We'll look at some properties of these functions and discuss the Möbius inversion formula.  If time permits, we will recast these ideas in the context of the Dirichlet ring of all arithmetical functions and list some known properties of this ring.
