The Learning Center is excited to support Cal Poly Humboldt students as we launch into our first full year as a polytechnic. There are a number of new services--in addition to those you have come to expect--that we want to share with you:

New @ the Learning Center

  • Online Learning Strategies Video Workshops through Student Lingo

  • Expanded learning tools on our digital resources webpage

  • After-hours online tutoring for math, statistics, writing, and logic through NetTutor.

  • New Supplemental Instruction sessions for Psych Stats (Psyc 109)

  • New tutor scheduling software for students to easily search for tutors and make appointments online

  • New point person for tutoring coordination: Michele Miyamoto is now coordinating tutoring, peer coaching, and referrals

Academic Support Services

Supplemental Instruction - for most intro science courses, logic, and psych stats

Tutoring - drop-in Science & Math Labs; General Tutoring for other disciplines

Writing Consultations - for any discipline; online, in person, and through email

Academic Peer Coaching - support for time management and learning study strategies

SkillShops - in-person workshops on college success strategies; asynchronous workshop on writing with sources and avoiding plagiarism

Responsive Support

We continue to provide students with in-person and online options. Students can request online tutoring if they want to meet outside our regular online hours, and we’re ready to pivot services if necessary.
