Global Thriving: Building Community through International Education 

IEW 2021 goes Virtual! Attend one of our 30+ lectures, workshops, and events, held Feb. 8-12. All IEW events are free, virtual on Zoom, and open to the campus and community. Highlights include a keynote speaker, featured lectures and presentations; panel discussions on current events and global topics; workshops on studying, working, and living abroad; and food, dance, and more from around the world.     • Keynote Speaker for IEW, Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 5 pm. Gregory Gottlieb is a Professor of Practice at Tufts University and directs multiple USAID initiatives for the U.S. Government to end global hunger and promote food security. He is also an HSU alumnus. His talk is entitled: "The Education of a Humanitarian Relief Worker."
    • Featured Speaker, Thursday, Feb 11 at 4 pm. Anthony Medrano is an Assistant Professor at Yale-NUS (and an HSU alumnus). His talk is entitled, "The Sea Around Us: A Biography of the Coral Triangle and My Journey to It."
    • Opportunity to speak to a US STATE DEPARTMENT diplomat about your career options! Micaela Schweitzer-Bluhm, the Diplomat in Residence for the Northwest region of the United States, will be giving talks during International Education Week, Feb. 8, on "State Department Internships" at 9 am, and "Joining the Foreign Service" at 11 am.
