Mentored Research Proposal Writing Group

Apply now to participate in a Social Science research proposal writing group! Cohorts of 8 faculty members will be led by a faculty mentor or a research development professional. Over 6 months, cohorts will be guided through the process of writing and peer reviewing a competitive grant proposal. Each participant is expected to submit a proposal to the National Science Foundation or other federal or private funder. Applicants are also required to have attended or watched the recording of any three CAHSSA webinars, which can be accessed here.

The writing groups will meet virtually once a month (minimum) with their mentor during October – November 2022 and January – April 2023

BECOME A MENTOR FOR A CAHSSA WRITING GROUP

Do you have experience writing successful social science grant proposals or mentoring faculty in writing competitive social science grant proposals? The California Alliance for Hispanic Serving Social Science Advancement (CAHSSA) is recruiting 10 mentors to lead writing groups over a 6-month time period from October 2022 through April 2023, excluding the month of December.

You will receive a $2,000 honorarium for facilitating at least 6 group meetings over the 6 program months and providing iterative feedback on 6-8 proposals.

PARTICIPATE IN A CAHSSA WRITING GROUP

You are invited to apply to participate in a 6-month social science research proposal writing group that will lead you through the process of conceptualizing, writing, and submitting a grant proposal for submission to the National Science Foundation or other federal or private funder. Each group of 6-8 faculty members will be facilitated by an experienced faculty member or research development professional.
