Dear CSU Faculty, FCG, Chairs and Deans:

2014 CSUPERB Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for New Investigator, Research Development, Entrepreneurial Joint Venture Matching and Curriculum Development Grant Programs are now open!  Please forward this first announcement to all faculty involved or interested in biotechnology education and research on your campus. CSUPERB defines biotechnology quite broadly and welcomes and encourages applications from all related disciplines, including but not limited to life sciences, physical sciences, clinical sciences, math, computer science, agricultural science, engineering, and/or business.

See RFPs for complete announcements, review criteria and eligibility requirements. RFPs, application forms, and submission information are available at:

All proposals are due Monday, February 3, 2014 by 5:00 p.m. pacific time. The review and award notification processes for all programs will be completed simultaneously in April/May 2014.

Please note that CSUPERB is replacing its Online Application and Review System (OARS) with our new CSYou submission forms.  These forms are currently under development and will become active “just-in-time” to receive proposal submissions prior to the deadline. General information about this transition to CSYou submission forms can be found at the CSUPERB Blog here - http://www.csuperb.org/blog/2013/10/07/program-update-new-csyou-submission-system/.

CSUPERB will conduct a proposal writing workshop during the 26th Annual CSU Biotechnology Symposium Jan. 9-11, 2014, at the Santa Clara Marriott. In the meantime if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact the program office at (619)-594-2822 or by email to csuperb@mail.sdsu.edu.
