The Presidents' Commission Scholars program will make $8,000 grants to CSU student/faculty teams. Six thousand dollars will be provided as a student scholarship to support academic/living expenses to allow a full-time commitment to the experience. The remaining two thousand dollars can provide support to the faculty mentor's research program.

Proposal Deadline: Tuesday, February 18, 2020 before 5:00 p.m. pacific time

Award Notification: April 2020

The RFP, which includes all contextual information, review criteria, eligibility requirements and submission policies can be found on the CSUPERB website: https://calstate.edu//csuperb.

CSUPERB plans to support up to 11 first and second-year undergraduate biotechnology-related research experiences during the 2020 summer.

CSUPERB defines biotechnology as a fusion of biology and technology.  The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) lists biotechnology examples. CSUPERB explicitly adds to the list health IT and medical device research and development. CSUPERB welcomes and encourages applications from CSU faculty in all disciplines related to the current practice of biotechnology, including but not limited to life sciences, physical sciences, clinical sciences, math, computer science, agricultural science, engineering, and/or business.
