CSU Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) Summit Series
Join Academic and Student Affairs in the CSU Office of the Chancellor for the Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) Summit Series, sponsored by CSU Professional and Continuing Education (PaCE) in partnership with the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL) on Wednesday, April 28th, 11:00 am – 12 pm PDT. CAEL will share national research data and results from a 72-institution targeted study of prior learning assessment and adult student outcomes.
On Wednesday, May 5th, 11:30 am- 12 pm PDT, CSU Chancellor’s Office staff will share recent changes to CSU Policy on Credit for Prior Learning (formerly Executive Order 1036).
Research shows adult students and learners of all races, ethnicities, and income levels utilizing PLA were more likely to complete degrees and credentials than non-PLA students (PLA Boost Report, 2020). Through PLA, we as post-secondary educators and leaders can create another avenue to support student success by increasing access, improving equity, and closing achievement gaps.
