5/21/2026 EMSS Division Communication
EMSS Team Members:
Happy Thursday, and welcome to the almost beginning of a long weekend - I am taking some time off tomorrow, as I know many of you may be as well, so I am sending this week’s division communication a bit early. I hope you take time with Monday’s holiday to enjoy some time away from work, nice weather, and time with family or friends. I also encourage everyone to reflect on the reason for Memorial Day, honoring those who willingly made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure the continued freedom of our nation.
As your schedule allows, I invite you to learn more about happenings across our division and the campus:
EMSS End of the Year Celebration
It has been an exhausting but rewarding year, one worth celebrating! We saw historic continued enrollment growth, investment in and growth of our Centers for Inclusive Academic & Career Excellence, a successful accreditation visit, and countless wins and improvements within each of your departments. Join us on Friday, June 5, from 4-6 p.m. in the Great Hall for our End of the Year celebration. There will be food, drinks, relaxing activities, and a chance to close out the academic year with fun and fellowship.

Accolades
Thanks to everyone who played a part in all of the end-of-year activities for our students. I know April and May can be a brutal stretch, with lots of late nights and hectic events that all run together. But it is also a time of immense celebration with our students, their families and friends, and the best reminder of the importance of this work we do. From a successful Late Night Breakfast and Outstanding Student Awards ceremony to the Cultural Graduation Celebrations and a joyful Commencement, and everything in between, each of you played a role in celebrating our students and moving them along their pathway of success. Thank you for everything you did this year, and do always, to make Cal Poly Humboldt a place of welcome, growth, and learning for our students.
I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend.
Take care of yourselves and each other,
Chrissy Holliday
