"13th" Commentary and Q&A

THURSDAY, SEPT. 17, FROM 2-4 PM the History Department will host the campus’ annual Constitution Day* recognition event. This year, watch the film "13th" (free on YouTube here) -- “an in-depth look at the prison system in the United States and how it reveals the nation's history of racial inequality” -- on your own prior to Sept. 17. Then, Zoom in at 2 p.m. for commentary and questions with our guest speakers:
- Dr. Renee Byrd, Associate Professor of Criminology and Justice Studies at HSU, prison activist and scholar
- Tony Wallin, founding member of HSU’s Formerly Incarcerated Students Club and Project Rebound activist
