(Nov. 6) Data Science Club: GitHub Workshop

November 4, 2026
Hello Everyone,

Love data? Love to collaborate? There’s a hub for that: GitHub.
No matter what you study, you are likely to run into GitHub sooner rather than later. It is the ultimate frontier for research and teamwork, hosting global repositories and a diverse community of collaborators.

According to the latest GitHub Innovation Graph data, outbound collaboration, the sum of git pushes and pull requests sent from developers in one economy to public repositories in another, grew by 16% from Q4 2025 to Q1 2026.

GitHub is becoming an essential tool across almost every major:
Political Science: To clean and track complex voter data.
Fisheries & Wildlife: To map species distributions and analyze ecological data.
Computer Science: To manage software updates and open-source contributions.
Economics: To run econometric simulations and manage massive macroeconomic datasets.
Engineering: To collaborate on large-scale team projects in real time.
And many more!

Join us as we help you navigate this powerful platform and elevate your research!

Date:
Friday, November 6th
Time: 1-2:30pm
