Cal Poly Humboldt’s Immediate Access course materials program continues to grow—and more students than ever will begin the Fall 2026 semester with affordable, first-day access to their required materials.

This fall, the program includes:

• 950 students
• 28 course sections
• 11 academic departments
• Approximately $78,000 in total student savings
• Average savings of $82 per student compared with purchasing the materials independently
• 99.9% of enrolled students have remained in the program to date while the student opt-out period remains open till September 7

Participating courses span Business, Chemistry, Communication, Dance, Geography, Health Education, Mathematics, Psychology, Soil Science, Theatre Arts, and the MBA program. This growing participation demonstrates that Immediate Access can support courses across a wide range of disciplines.

For students, Immediate Access means:

• Course materials available through Canvas as early as five days before classes begin
• Fewer barriers to being prepared on the first day of instruction
• Materials automatically provided when students register for a participating course
• Charges placed on student accounts, allowing eligible financial aid to be applied
• Portable access through Canvas, including downloading for offline use
• Reading and accessibility tools available through the Kortext platform

We are now identifying courses for Spring 2027 for an adoption deadline of October 30, 2026.
