Undergraduate History Conference and keynote address, May 1-2
The Department of History invites you to its annual Undergraduate History Conference!
Dr. Jonathan Strom’s (Emory University) keynote address, "Executing Conversion: Pietist Success and Unintended Consequences,” will explore the phenomenon of Christian “rebirth” among Pietists, whose zealous attempts to convert even criminals condemned to execution became spectacular media events and spurred tragic imitation. The keynote address will take place Friday, May 1, 2026, from 5-7 p.m. in FH 025.
On Saturday, May 2, students will present their research projects in FH 025 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. For a copy of the conference program, contact the History Department at histdept@humboldt.edu.
These events are open to Cal Poly Humboldt students, faculty, staff and the community. Persons who wish to request disability related accommodations should contact the History Department at 707-826-3641 or histdept@humboldt.edu as soon as possible.
