Sustainability Champions Announced!
The ninth annual Sustainability Champion Awards honor Cal Poly Humboldt students, faculty and staff whose practices have deepened a culture of sustainability, have furthered the integration of sustainability into institutional practices and academics, and/or reduced our collective environmental footprint.
Each year a Sustainability Awards selection committee reviews nominations and selects one faculty, one staff, and one student who demonstrates excellence in advancing sustainability on campus and beyond.
This year’s award winners are Karley Rojas (graduate student and Research Associate for the Rou Dalagurr Food Sovereignty Lab), Dr. Cinthya Ammerman Muñoz (Native American Studies and Environment & Community) and Ash Hansen (Orientation & New Student Programs Coordinator), all of whom embody a spirit of innovation, collaboration and leadership to create solutions to pressing challenges facing the campus and society.
Each winner will be presented with an award made by students in the Swetman Makerspace at a ceremony taking place during the Sustainability Mixer, Thursday April 24th, 5-7pm at Septentrio Winery in Arcata. All are welcome to the Sustainability Mixer. Free appetizers and drink ticket provided.
The Cal Poly Humboldt Office of Sustainability sponsors the annual Sustainability Champion Awards.
