Greetings, CAHSS faculty.

The Cal Poly Humboldt Accreditation Steering Committee is seeking a CAHSS faculty representative to join us in preparing for the university’s upcoming reaffirmation of its WSCUC accreditation. We have four essays to write this year in order to submit our institutional report in June 2025. To do so, the committee will divide into four teams, each charged with writing one essay and engaging with campus about the content.

This is important and significant work, as it is perhaps the most in-depth self-examination that a university regularly conducts. The accreditation standards ask us to consider (i) our purpose and the integrity and transparency with which we endeavor to fulfill it; (ii) how well we achieve our educational and student-success goals; (iii) how we allocate resources to support the university’s human, physical, fiscal, technology, and information resources; and (iv) how we go about assessing our performance and acting on evidence to improve.

The committee is chaired by the university’s accreditation liaison officer, AVP Carmen Bustos-Works. You can check the committee roster here to learn which of your university colleagues are already on board.
